Some may have noticed that I have not been publishing as many papers as I used to. Simply put, I have been prioritizing other endeavors. Quite a while ago by now and together with Oliver Wang, Tobias Hinz, Cynthia Liu, and Kevin Matzen, I was a founding member of a project that later became known as Adobe Firefly.
Specifically, I have been in charge of the image data pipeline, which not only includes curating and serving a vast number of assets, but also ideating and implementing strategies on how to make best use of this data. A key challenge in this regard is that Adobe Firefly is commercially safe, meaning that our training corpus is much more concise than that of competing models but we still need to match those in quality.
Being one of the founders of Adobe Firefly has been a unique opportunity, considering the impact our work had and continues to have. Not only from text-to-image applications, but also Generative Fill as well as Generative Vectors.
